Drop Images is a free online image compressor. It makes JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC files as small as possible without visibly changing them, and can optionally resize them to a maximum width. Drop your images, then download them one by one or all together as a zip. No account and no limits. Nothing is added to your images: no watermarks, no metadata, nothing else.
Images are compressed in your browser and never uploaded to a server. Location, camera and other meta data are removed from the results, unless you switch that off.
Every image is tried at several quality levels. The smallest version that still looks like the original is kept. Photos saved at high quality often shrink by half or more.
Because nothing is uploaded, there is no upload limit. How large an image can be depends only on the memory of your device. Very large images take a little longer.
Unless you choose another type, a JPEG stays a JPEG, a PNG stays a PNG, a WebP stays a WebP. A HEIC becomes a JPEG. Transparency and colour profiles are kept, so files work as drop-in replacements.
Turn images into JPEG, PNG or WebP. HEIC photos from iPhones are accepted too and come back as JPEG, or as the type you choose. Colour profiles carry over. JPEG has no transparency, so see-through areas become white.
Set a maximum width to scale large images down for the web. The aspect ratio is kept and smaller images are never enlarged.
